It’s time for Spring Storytime!  Sign up begins Saturday, March 20 for the spring session of one of the following:

Toddlers (ages 24-36 mos.) Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning April 7.

Preschool (ages 3-5 years) Mondays at 7:30 p.m. beginning April 5.

Preschool (ages 3-5 years) Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning April 6.

Preschool (ages 3-5 years) Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning April 8.

Spanish Preschool (ages 3-5 years) Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. beginning April 20.

Spanish Toddlers (ages 24-36 mos.) Fridays at 10:30 a.m. beginning April 23.

The Round Lake Area  Library is proud to introduce the TumbleBooks Database, a source for audiobooks and fun!

TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach young children the joys of reading in a format they’ll love. Text is highlighted while being narrated so students can folow along, often in different languages. Games and activities are also part of the e-reading fun.

Winter Reading Club Has Begun!

The library invites children ages birth through Grade 8 to participate in a six-week reading club. You may read books, magazines, or listen to audio books.  When you reach your reading goal, receive a book of your choice and be entered into a grand prize raffle. Sign up at the Youth Services Reference Desk. Registration begins January 25 through March 1. The program ends March 8.

Registration for Winter – Spring programs will begin Saturday, January 9 at 9:00 a.m. Patrons may register their children for programs in person at the Youth Services Reference Desk.  Patrons may also call (847) 546-7060 promt 5 to register children for programs.  In the occasion we are not available to answer the phone, we ask that you please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we are able.  We thank you for your patience during this time and we are very excited to see and/or hear from all of you!

Please note that we are not accepting registration for the the Spring Toddler and Preschool Storytimes (both English and Spanish) and the Spring Babies and Books (May 22) until March 20.  For all other programs we are accepting registration beginning Saturday. January 9.

We have several wonderful and exciting programs available this season and we can’t wait to present them to you with immense enthusiasm!  We hope you will enjoy these programs with equal enthusiasm and we truly appreciate your participation!  We have plenty of holiday celebrations, investigations of nature, crafts to prepare you for spring, and some very new programs such as Fossil Guy, Macramé, and History of Tattoos.  For a complete listing of programs, view our programs pages as well as our newsletter available for downloading here.

The 4th annual Winter Holidays Around the World is here!  Journey across the pond to England where we shall celebrate Christmas English-style!  Make an English Christmas craft and enjoy some English treats!
